Families!! Come enjoy fall activities and pumpkin carving outdoors in Georgetown’s wonderful nature park! Walk among the radiant fall colours by sparkling Silver Creek and the Credit River, while looking for resident critters and learning about their homes. An Ecology Park exploration will be led by Manuel Spiller, our nature interpretor who works for Credit Valley Conservation. Learn about the diversity of trees in the Hungry Hollow ravine and do cool handicrafts with natural materials. We’ll enjoy carving jack-o-lanterns together! With the help of our volunteers, have your children -or your inner child- create a fun pumpkin. And learn how to make pumpkin bird feeders.
The event happens on Sunday, October 29th from 1-4 pm in Willow Park Ecology Centre in Norval, just east of Georgetown off Highway 7. Access is off the Mary Street parking lot. It’s just $7 per person, or $25/family of four with 1 free pumpkin. Register at www.willowparkecology.ca.
Willow Park Ecology Centre is a community-based project maintained through dedicated volunteers and its Volunteer Mentorship Program. Thank you to our fantastic 2017 growing-season volunteers for helping to maintain special habitat areas, gardens and trails. The WPEC Board is seeking new committee members for 2018.
