Ecosource to host “The Birch Bark Canoe and Indigenous Canoe Cultures” workshop at Willow Park Aug 12!

Come out to Willow Park Ecology centre on Saturday, August 12th from 10am-4pm to partake in a workshop hosted by Ecosource. Explore Indigenous canoe culture with a hands-on session about birch bark canoe building. Guest speaker, Sylvia Plain from Aamjiwnaang First Nation; a community ambassador, water walker, researcher, birch bark canoe building apprentice and founder of the Great Lakes Canoe Journey will be joining the workshop.

This unique program for indigenous and non-indigenous youth (12-24) is a free and exciting opportunity to explore nature and the history of the Credit River through a series of hands-on workshops, Indigenous storytelling and leadership experiences.
